Conil de la Frontera is one of the most visited places in Andalucía. This seafaring village has a large number of activities and places to discover thanks to its 14km of coast, its characteristic historical centre and its rich gastronomy focused on local products, where shines the “almadraba” (fishing technique) red tuna and “pescaíto frito” (fried fish). Historical centre
Between the narrow streets and the typical white houses, you can find the Torre de Guzmán, it is free to visit and you can know all of its history through a video. At the historical centre you can also find the Iglesia de Santa Catalina, of the XVI century with gothic and “neomudejar”. Another one of the fundamental historical places in this village is the Puerta de la Villa, which serves as the entrance to Plaza de España.
Seafront promenade
Enjoy the environment and the amazing sights at the seafront promenade of Conil de la Frontera. During the walk you can discover several travelling shops, cafeterias, restaurants and all kind of shopping stores. The promenade begins at the beach of “los Bateles” and travels through the beaches of “la Fontanilla” and of “la Barrosa”. You will also see the park area situated south of the promenade where you can rest and enjoy the environment.
Beach of "la Fontanilla"
One of the best beaches in Camil, due to the quality of its water, sand and services. The beach of “la Fontanilla” does not have many waves; its sand is thin and gold, ideal for taking a walk through all of the extension of the beach. You can also find there some of the best restaurants in Conil.
El Palmar
At the end of the beach of Castilnovo you can find this paradisiacal beach with crystal clear shallow waters. It is one of the only remaining virgin beaches left on the coast of Andalucía, because there are not any urbanizations near. Its 8km of length are perfect for taking a walk, swim or surf in some of the most remote areas.
